The Apollo BGS Hospitals in Mysuru observed World Stroke Day by engaging in a very effective and meaningful awareness program, which mainly focused on how to prevent stroke or in case it occurs how fast a responder can be. The activity was done at the Kote Anjaneya Swamy Temple located at the North Gate of Mysore Palace and it also included Yoga for the public encouraging the importance of physical activities in lowering the risk of stroke.
The guest of honor at the event was the Former Indian Men’s Hockey Team Captain and also an Arjuna Awardee V.R. Raghunath. His presence reinforced the importance of being active in all peoples’ daily lives in order to reduce the chances of stroke and encouraged them to consider doing such activities on a regular basis. It was also appropriate that Raghunath’s efforts to promote wellbeing were welcomed by the participants in the course of the event.
On the other hand, medical consultants from Apollo BGS Hospitals including famous neurologists discussed how to identify stroke signs to the audience. Vic-President and Unit Head at Apollo BGS Hospitals, N.G. Bharteesha Reddy, in the company of Dr. Somanath Vasudev, Dr. Aumir Moin, Dr. Shankar, Dr. K.S. Bopaiah, Dr. B.L. Lokesh, Dr. S. Vinay Hegde, Dr. Jyotsna, and Dr. Aman Nayak (Medical Superintendent) showed the dedication of the hospital in the provision of health education and outreach program.
