Gujarat Minster Confirms 16 Fatalities, 50 Cases Reported for Chandipura Virus

Gujarat Health Minister Rushikesh Patel stated that 50 instances of Chandipura virus had been detected in the state, including 16 deaths.

Rushikesh Patel stated, “14 instances of Chandipura virus have been detected in Himmatpur, with seven patients admitted. Three instances of Chandipura virus have been reported from different states. There have been 50 cases of the Chandipura virus documented throughout the state, including 16 deaths.

He went on to say that information about this had been sent throughout the villages and Community Health Centers, and that the Chief Minister had met with collectors, the Chief District Health Officer (CDHO), and medical colleges.

He went on to say, “In Gujarat, indications of the Chandipura virus were discovered in children, which raised some concerns. Seven cases were submitted to Pune for lab testing, and only one instance of Chandipura virus was discovered. Swelling and diarrhoea are not caused only by the Chandipura virus. This can also be attributed to encephalitis. Important information about the virus has spread throughout the state.

Earlier, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel examined the state’s condition in the wake of the Chandipura virus and assessed the actions done to combat the pandemic.
Gujarat Health Minister Rishikesh Patel and other senior officials attended the conference, according to Gujarat’s Information Department.

He went on to say, “In Gujarat, indications of the Chandipura virus were discovered in children, which has raised some concerns. Seven patients were submitted to Pune for testing, and only one instance of Chandipura virus was discovered. All symptoms, including edema and diarrhoea, are not caused by the Chandipura virus alone. This could also be due to encephalitis. Important information on the virus has been spread throughout the state.”

Earlier, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel examined the state’s status in the aftermath of the Chandipura virus and assessed the actions done to combat the pandemic. The meeting was attended by Gujarat Health Minister Rishikesh Patel as well as other high officials, according to the Information Department.
