Prince Shubham, founder of HealthCRAD, has transformed rural healthcare through visionary leadership and a personal commitment to addressing healthcare gaps. Hailing from the underserved village of Manjoura in Bihar, Shubham’s journey began with a profound personal loss due to inadequate medical treatment, which inspired him to revolutionize healthcare access.
Despite challenges, including limited funding and technological adoption, his dedication led to HealthCRAD’s success. Developed under his direction, the initiative has integrated advanced technology and community engagement to provide timely medical care. His leadership has been pivotal in bridging healthcare disparities in rural India.
Let’s understand how Prince Shubham transformed personal adversity into a mission to revolutionize rural healthcare through HealthCRAD’s innovative solutions!
Can you introduce yourself and share a bit about your background and journey leading up to the founding of HealthCRAD?
I hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering and faced significant challenges with healthcare access while growing up. This issue became personal in 2012 when my father suffered a brain hemorrhage due to delayed treatment after an accident. This experience deeply impacted me and fueled my desire to create a system that ensures prompt healthcare and emergency assistance.
Although I didn’t attend IIT or NIT, I pursued my engineering studies at a government college in Bihar. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I volunteered with various PAN India NGOs, which exposed me to critical gaps in our healthcare system. This inspired me to develop a solution, leading me to co-found HealthCRAD with my college friends. Our mission is to provide effective healthcare support, especially in rural areas.
In addition to leading HealthCRAD, I serve as a mentor with Startup Cells in various districts, PitchHere, and as a Community Ambassador for Lemon School of Entrepreneurship in the Bihar region.
What motivated you to start HealthCRAD, and what inspired your passion for the healthcare sector?
My motivation to start HealthCRAD was driven by personal experience and a desire to address healthcare deficiencies. After my father suffered from inadequate treatment in 2012, I was determined to create a system that ensures timely medical care. Volunteering during the COVID-19 pandemic further highlighted systemic gaps in healthcare, reinforcing my commitment to find a solution. I wanted to prevent others from facing similar challenges and to improve healthcare access in underserved areas.
