Apollo Hospitals has announced the launch of the Apollo Research Academy (ARA), an initiative designed to accelerate healthcare research and innovation. This marks a significant step in the group’s mission to leverage its expertise in healthcare, research, and education for pioneering advancements.

“The Apollo Research Academy embodies the spirit of ‘One Apollo’, leveraging the collective strengths of the group’s diverse research and educational organizations,” said Dr. Prathap C. Reddy, Founder and Chairman of Apollo Hospitals. The Academy aims to align Apollo’s research initiatives, foster collaborations, and build strategic partnerships with prestigious national and international research and funding organizations, he added.

Preetha Reddy, Vice Chairperson of Apollo Hospitals, emphasized that the Academy will build upon Apollo’s existing efforts in education and research. “The ARA is a natural extension of Apollo’s mission, pushing beyond current achievements and focusing on the future of medicine,” she said.

The Apollo Research Academy will concentrate on five key areas: Capacity and Culture, Sponsored Research, Investigator-Driven/Grant-Funded Research, Data Sciences, and Innovation. These pillars will form the foundation of the Academy’s mission to drive impactful, cutting-edge research in healthcare.

Led by Professor Ravi P. Mahajan, the ARA will unify efforts across several Apollo entities, including the Apollo Health Education and Research Foundation (AHERF), Apollo University, the Apollo Research Institute (ARI), Apollo Research Centre, and the Apollo Clinical Innovation Group. This collective approach aims to position the Academy as a globally recognized hub for research excellence.

The creation of the Apollo Research Academy represents a strategic move by the group to consolidate its research activities and reinforce its position at the forefront of medical innovation. With a focus on collaboration, innovation, and the future of healthcare, Apollo is poised to contribute significantly to global advancements in medicine.
