A recent survey conducted by Lissun, a mental health platform with a customer-centric approach, revealed that more than 70% of respondents admitted to delaying seeking expert mental health consultation until they reached the advanced stages of their mental health concerns. In an interview with CNBC-TV18, Dr. Krishna Veer Singh, the director and co-founder of Lissun, emphasized the startup’s commitment to enhancing accessibility to mental health support for all individuals.

Dr. Singh outlined Lissun’s mission, which revolves around addressing mental health challenges at scale through what he calls the “six A’s” – awareness, acceptance, access, affordability, assurance, and anonymity.

The survey findings shed light on the fact that over 60% of respondents reported that families still harbor reservations or objections regarding mental health counseling. This resistance is primarily attributed to a lack of awareness, acceptance, or the persistent stigma associated with mental health.

In its journey so far, Lissun has provided support to over 25,000 individuals, and it aims to double this number within the next five months. The startup’s focus on awareness, affordability, and ensuring anonymity underscores its commitment to breaking down barriers that prevent individuals from seeking timely mental health support. With a customer-centric approach, Lissun strives to make a meaningful impact on mental health by addressing the multifaceted challenges associated with it.
